 A brief history of Bamessing Nsey village

The people of Nsey (Bamessing), like many other people of the North West Region of Cameroon, originated from Tikari in the 15th Century. It is one of the four villages that make up Ndop Central Sub Division, and one of the thirteen villages of Ngoketunjia Division of the North West Region of Cameroon. They developed a rich culture centered on pottery, crafts and distinct administrative structure led by a Fon and advised by the Ngumba (ŋwaaŋ). Their history involves trade, significant cultural festivals like the Nikia, Məkɔŋ fɨə, Bəŋgwiæ and strong community associations like the Nsei International Cultural and Development Association (NseiICUDA) Promoting development.
